Learn from an Expert

Meditation, like anything else, is best learned from a skilled instructor.  Yes, you can pick up some techniques on your own, and they may be helpful. But working with an expert Teacher provides a depth of knowledge to the experience far beyond anything one can learn from the static pages of a book. Being able to ask Questions and have them answered in real time is priceless.

Catherine Inglese is a Teacher of Vedic Meditation aligned with the Saraswati order of the Shankaracharya spiritual lineage of India, and an Ayurvedic practitioner.  She trained to teach Bhavateet Dhyan in the Himalayas of India, near Rishikesh.

Qualifying as a Teacher in this tradition involved years of study of the various aspects of vedic knowledge, pilgrimages to India to study the Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, and vedic mythos. Prerequisites also included completion of the Siddhis program. Teacher training culminated with 108 days of meditation rounds living off-grid in a secluded forest high up in the Himalayas above Chamba.

This intensive training program produces Master Teachers possessing a full range of knowledge on vedic Meditation techniques as well as intellectual mastery of Vedanta.

In 2013 Catherine returned to India on pilgrimage to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Allahabad. This was the largest spiritual gathering of human beings the world has ever known, happening only once every 144 years, with over 120 Million people in attendance. The Maha Kumbh Mela occurs on the sacred site where the Ganges, Saraswati, and Yamuna rivers converge. Here pilgrims gather to purify themselves and release many years (perhaps lifetimes) of Karma, a truly life-altering experience

Catherine is an exponent, practitioner, and teacher of Ayurveda, the ancient science of holistic wellness, healing, and longevity.  In 2014 she took the Masters in Digestion program, studying with John Immel at the Joyful Belly Institute. Study continued following the works of Vasant Lad, and expanding into study of Women's Health with Dr. Padma Raju, a Vaidya with clinics in Hyderabad and Delhi, India.

Educated at universities in Los Angeles and London, Catherine brings a balanced understanding of Vedic knowledge and western lifestyle to her practice and teaching. She is civic minded and serves as Co-Chair of the Sharing Meditation Foundationa 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating meditation training for underserved at-risk communities. Her activity with the Foundation has included working directly with the National Veterans Administration, and WeSpark, a non-profit Cancer support organization.

Catherine has spent the last eleven years teaching meditation, ayurveda, and vedic wisdom in America, Indonesia, Australia and India.

In 2021 she lead a 15-month meditation teacher training program which just concluded in May, graduating the best prepared new teachers of the tradition. She leads groups of meditators to India on spiritual retreats, and looks forward to returning next year.

Her hunger for knowledge and curiosity of the world has lead her to begin classes in Vastu and Vaastu Architecture under Dr. Jessie Mercay at the American University of Mayonic Science and Technology where she now studies the science of Vaastu Shastras and Sthapatya Veda.

Founder of the Effortless Mantra Meditation & Ayurveda Center in Van Nuys, CA., Catherine is an Independent teacher of Bhavateet Dhyan Meditation. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California

Wishing you good Health and great Happiness! with Love, Catherine
